Synthetic Artist album cover - Beyonce
Above is me explaining the way in which Beyonce has presented herself on one of her many album covers. This is a slightly newer one. The older she is getting, the more she is becoming more and more like an organic artist. This is most likely due to the fact that she has been told what to do to attract an audience and she has done that and so now she knows what to do by herself. She doesn't need people to tell her anymore.

Take That's Career

Robbie williams decided to become a solo artist as he thought that he would be more successful this way and he also had disagreements with the management and band members. Robbie launched his solo career by releasing a cover version of George Michaels's 'Freedom' which reached number two in the Uk singles charts in summer 1996. He then brought out a debut album 'Life thru a Lens' which was released in 1997. Robbie was very succesful by himself and this was partly down to his song writer Guy Chambers. He made a very succesful single 'Angels' which was released as the albums fourth single and it became Williams' best seller in the UK.
In October 2010 a single was released called 'Shame' which had been sung by both Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow. This song marked the first time that both Barlow and Williams had performed together on a song since Williams left Take That in 1995. This song almost came across of a way of saying sorry to each other and that they wanted to forget the past.
In May 2006, it was announced that the group would be set to record new material together. Their fourth studio album 'Beautiful World' was released in 2006 and was followed with the album 'The Circus' in 2008. The four piece were very successful, still without Robbie, they were scoring a string of chart hits across the UK and Europe while taking the number of records sold to 45 million worldwide. They went on and did their Circus Live Tour in 2009 just before Robbie decides to join back in 2010.
When Robbie reunited with the band in 2010 he was very excited and Gary Barlow and himself put the past behind them. To follow this in 2012 the band were annouced by Forbes the 5th highest earning music stars in the world. Reunited Take That stars sang to 60,000 people at Twickenham stadium in south-west London in aid of the Help For Heroes charity. They then began to record their last album which they did as the original five piece. Their album Progree was the first album feauturing Robbie since 1995. The album was released in November 2010.
Take That are still going now. They haven't done anything in a while but everyone was very happy when they decided to get back together in 2006. They went on and did a tour of them being reuinted which was a complete sell out. I actually went to it and it was amazing. The set was interesting and amazing and I'm not even that keen on Take That but it was a great experience.

Theorists
We have looked at two theorists. One named Keith Negus who thinks that their are two distinct ways of thinking about potential aritsts from within the music industry. The other theorist has a differernt view on it who is named Richard Dyer. Dyer believes a star isnt a person, it's a name given to performers in order to sell the performer to a large and loyal audience.
Keith Negus believes that there are organic artists and synthetic artist who are both very different. Organic artists aren't as popular now a days due to synthetic artist being a lot more popular. This is because they atract more peoples attention because they are almost more interesting to look at which makes people want to listen to them. Some good examples of synthetic artists are Lady Gaga, Rita Ora, Jessie J. Organic artists are people such as Ed Sheeran and Usher who are naturally talented and who haven't been made out to be something that there not.
Where as Richard Dyas believes that a star is not a person, he thinks that it is something that has been made most likely by the recording company. It's like they have been constructed around music perfomers in order to sell the performer to a large and loyal audience. He believes that stars depend upon a range on subsidiary media - magazines, tv, radio in order to construct an image for themselves which can be markerted to their target audeince. The star image is made up of a range meanings which are attractive to the target audiences

Start of A2
We have now started A2. Can't believe I'm now in the second year of Hurtwood. It has gone so quickly. We have been introduced to the music industry as this is going to be the aim of this year. I have a lot more interest in music because I listen to it everyday and can still listen to the same songs without getting bored. I try and keep up with all the latest music and I'm trying to get tickets to go to either Reading or V festival this summer. I listen to the radio which plays the type of music which I enjoy, but on stations like Capital and Kiss 100 they repeat the songs which they play which annoys me.
We have looked at two theorist. One named Keith Negus who believes that there are two distinct ways of thinking about potential artists from within the music industry. The other theorist was called Richard Dyer who thinks that there is different types of artist's such as organic and synthetic.
My favourite organic artist would most likely be someone like Ed Sheeran and my favourite synthetic would be The wanted.
I met The Wanted in 2012 because I really like their music and I enjoy going to their concerts. They were such nice people and made me realise that even when they are on stage they are basically the same. There not those types of artists who think they are took good to talk to their fans because they are famous.
I love their music videos which I tend to watch on either the music channels, on sky or on the Internet. I get emails sent to me from 'The Wanted' which tells me all their latest songs and videos and tells me what they are doing. Its more of a fan based thing.
